What type of printing do you offer?
We are a small operation aimed at providing an affordable option to homeschoolers. The simpler, the better but that being said, we can print just about any PDF! We can print homeschool curriculums, worksheets, eBooks, etc. So long as it is click-and-print ready (i.e. nothing too complicated), we can do it!
We can print in color or black and white, single- or double-sided. We will print the cover of your document in color even for black and white printing. We can even bind your book/document with a vinyl or laminate front cover and a card back cover.
** Unfortunately we cannot do art prints, it is best to have these printed at your local print shop. **
For anything more complex, e.g. mixing black and white printing and color printing within one document, please contact us for a quote.
Is there anything you cannot print?
There are some projects that we are not equipped to produce. Anything that requires cutting, stapling, folding, as well as very complex projects (requiring different kinds of paper in one document, such as cardstock covers and colored paper, or with different settings, etc.) or art prints, are examples of what we are unable to fulfill. We gladly recommend your local printer/stationers for projects that are more complex than click-and-print.
What does long-edge & short-edge flip mean?
“Flipping” is a printing term that means how you want the paper printed double-sided. Most PDFs are a standard, portrait orientation (i.e. long edges on the left and right, short edges on the top and bottom), and some are landscape orientation (i.e. the long edges are on the top and bottom, and the short edges are on the left and right).
This is how you want your document printed on paper when choosing double-sided printing or binding.
- Portrait orientation + long edge flip = normal book
- Portrait orientation + short edge flip = notepad (the binding would be at the top of the page.)
- Landscape orientation + long edge flip = calendar
- Landscape orientation + short edge flip = a wide book
What paper sizes do you offer?
At this time we are only able to offer standard A4 size sheets (29.7 x 21cm).
What is the difference between a vinyl cover and a laminated cover?
A vinyl cover is a clear sheet of vinyl that we place on top of the first page of your file. They are also called presentation covers. For our laminated covers, we simply laminate the first page of your file.
Where can I upload my pdf?
When placing your order we prefer that you upload your pdf file to Dropbox (or similar such as Google Drive or WeShare) and supply us with a shared link so we may have access to it.
You can sign up for a free Dropbox account here, find out how to upload your files here or find out how to share the files here.
Can I upload multiple files and have them all bound together?
Files must be click-and-print ready. To combine multiple files to print and bind together, please visit ilovepdf.com. Alternatively, you can contact us for a quote – there may be additional charges.
When will I get my printing?
Our standard turnaround time is 1-2 weeks. The turnaround time is the time from when we receive the order to when it ships. We do our utmost to stay within the listed turnaround times, but it is not guaranteed.
HOW DO THE WEB DESIGN PACKAGES WORK?
In a few simple steps, we will get your website up and going.
Step 1 – Decide which package best suits your needs. complete your order.
Step 2 – Once your order has been completed, you will receive an email guiding you to our online questionnaire where you complete all your basic company information and answer a few questions to help us know what you want.
Step 3 – At this stage, we will set up your .co.za domain and email accounts.
Step 4 – Once you have submitted the questionnaire in step 2, you will receive an email guiding you through the process of preparing and uploading the content for your website to a DropBox folder we share with you. The content we need includes page-by-page text, pictures, videos, logos, etc.
Step 5 – Now we can get the design process going. Once we have received the content mentioned in step 4, it usually takes 2 working days before we will send you the home page design to review. At this stage, we ask for your feedback so we can make any adjustments to the design before building the rest of the site.
Step 6 – We look at your feedback and finish designing the rest of the site.
Step 7 – All your website design needs now are the final touches. These are small changes that need to be made (excludes design direction, content, or layout changes).
Step 8 – Your site goes live!
Please remember that you are welcome to contact us directly at any stage of the process if you need help or are unsure of what to do.
What if I don’t like the web design?
In the steps listed above, you will see at step 5, you have the opportunity to give us feedback on the design we are building for you. This is your opportunity to let us know what you do or don’t like. We then consider your feedback when finalising the design. This ensures that our customers are happy with their final product.
If you are not happy with the final product (website), we will refund your monies in full. However, you will lose access to everything, including the domain name and email accounts too! If you would like to continue to use the domain name & email accounts, you can sign up for one of our monthly hosting packages or if you prefer to make use of another hosting company, we will deduct the cost of domain registration from your refund.
Please also remember that if your images and other content are second-rate, your website might not look as good as if it had high-resolution images, etc. We do the best we can with what you give us, that being said if you would like us to source clipart or images to use on your site, we will be happy to accommodate you, but there may be additional costs in this regard – drop us an email and we will give you a quote.
Can I have .com instead of .co.za?
Yes, we can do this however, there will be an additional fee. Please contact us at admin@ironpigprojects.com if you prefer to have a .com domain name.
I would like special effects on my website – can you do this?
Of course, we can, but as they will take more skill and time to create, there will be extra costs involved. Please feel free to reach out to us for a quote on any extra’s you might like. This could be anything from special effects (e.g. rocket flying across the screen) to custom forms or even a WhatsApp ‘click to chat’ icon.
How long does it take before my website is live?
We usually take 2 working days from the time we receive all your content until we have the preliminary Home page design ready (for you to review). Once we have your feedback, then it can take anything from 1-3 days to finish up the design depending on the content received and the package you have selected. Once you have reviewed the finished design, it usually takes less than a day to tweak and go live.
A lot of the time taken until going live depends on how quickly we receive your content and feedback as we go through the process. If everything runs smoothly, your website could be live before the end of the week, but if we are waiting a week for your content/feedback, it will take longer …
What if I don’t have any ‘content’?
Don’t worry, you are not alone. We will help you with the process. Content is the text, images, logos, videos, etc. that you want visitors to your website to see. Important things are your logo, contact details, information about what you have to offer.
Just remember: The better the content, the better your website will look.
